The climate crisis and its impact is a defining issue of our time.  It continues to threaten societies globally and its economic, social, and environmental impacts are a challenge for us all. Without immediate drastic action adapting to these impacts in the future will be more difficult and costly, and the world will struggle to get back on track with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).

That action is most likely to need transformational change in our economies and societies. Yet what progress is being made to generate that transformational change? How to create change across the many often siloed sectoral approaches, pilots and initiatives?  What are the pathways to that change? How can collective action take place, for adaptive, anticipatory and robust climate action using ‘learning from doing’ and finding appropriate responses together?

Following COP26 this second dialogue, in a series of three, will ask difficult questions.  It will look at some of the evidence and research that is building up about how transformational climate action can take place. It will bring together the often disconnected worlds of policy action, research and evaluation. Discussing the existing evidence, and exploring how to break down the many practical, political and structural barriers to lead to improved collaboration and aligned networks across these fields.

For this next virtual dialogue we will bring together about 50 participants from different sectors across the worlds of policy, evaluation and research.
