Videos from Wilton Park’s event Scaling up Early Action beyond 2025. In this video playlist participants discuss how early warning systems have developed over the past decade, agreeing that while they have improved and action response times have reduced, there are still areas of early warning systems which need improvement such as warnings for slow onset climate disasters, and early warnings for vulnerable countries. Participants also discuss how partnerships such as The Risk-Informed Early Action Partnership (REAP) can help achieve these improvements.
Ritu Bharadwaj (Team Leader and Principal Researcher, International Institute for Environment and Development), Gerard Howe (Deputy Director, Adaption, Nature and Resilience Department, FCDO) and Dr Pa’olelei Luteru (Permanent Representative of Samoa to the UN) discuss some key points.
