Having arrived in Britain as a refugee from Nazi Germany in 1939, Fritz Lustig enlisted in the British Army and became a ‘secret listener’ monitoring conversations between German prisoners of war. For part of this time, he was based at the original Wilton Park, where he met his future wife.
Participants at our 29th British German Forum were privileged to hear from Mr Lustig, aged 94 who is one of only two ‘secret listeners’ still alive today.
