COP-26-UK2020_Italy_partnership_RGB

This dialogue, hosted by the COP26 President Alok Sharma, brings together former COP Presidents and a group of senior experts to discuss how to ensure a successful outcome from COP26, the crucial UN climate negotiations to be hosted by the UK in Glasgow in November 2020.

Participants will share their perspectives on the building blocks necessary for a successful outcome, examining the opportunities for climate action and how to overcome any obstacles to an ambitious outcome. Experienced negotiators and former COP hosts will share what has worked in the past and why. There will also be discussions on supporting the delegate experience and efficient hosting to support successful outcomes.

The assembled experts will explore strategies for effective collaboration with state and non-state actors and observer organisations, how to engage diplomatic networks, and the political dynamics that would ensure a successful COP26.
