This conference discussed the following points:
- To assess the importance of establishing a shared body of civil-military strategic principles and doctrine for peace/stabilisation operations.
- To examine the extent to which it is feasible for civilian and military organisations to adopt common strategic principles and doctrine for peace and stabilisation operations, and to help promote broad agreement regarding the content of common principles/doctrine.
- To determine how new civil-military doctrine and principles can more effectively become institutionalised and translated into operational implementation.
